FNSI & More Orange for RSC

Last night was the 3rd Friday of the month and I remembered to sign up for Friday Night Sew-In. I made it a point to incorporate a bit of orange for the Rainbow Scrap Challenge 2025-style. Wow! My brain worked on two fronts! Lol!

This hexie was finished up

This one was started.
Update: Finished this afternoon

We are sweltering here in the Midwest. This morning Gracie & I walked out the door around 7am and just about melted. Tomorrow and the next couple of days promise to be even worse breathing weather. Summer officially arrived yesterday and I can safely say it has arrived this weekend with a vengeance.

I hope you find a place to hide from the heat if you are experiencing my weather too. Reading what others are sewing is a GREAT way to pass the time ... in air conditioning, of course!

Friday Night With Friends HERE. Thank you, Wendy, for the reminder!
Rainbow Scrap Challenge HERE. Thanks go to Angela who even gathered us together while away on vacation!

  1. Love those fish bowls that you're fussy cutting for the centers! Hot here, too - we do not have air conditioning, but sitting in front of a fan reading blogs works, too. Also ice cream!

    2. When we lived in Colorado we didn't have A/C either. As I recall, it wasn't really needed except upon occasion. Kind of like we had no heat in Hawaii. Not really needed except we wished we had some occasionally.

  2. You are sweltering in the heat and down here in New Zealand we have just celebrated the shortest day. Our weather is fine but cool, and the heat pump is needed in the evenings.

    1. I would gladly pump some of our heat your way!!! Hahaha! We've been lucky weather-wise so far this year. Hoping this stretch is short-lived. I knew you lived in the southern hemisphere but I didn't realize in New Zealand. Have a good week!

  4. Those fussy cut circles in the middle of your hexies are adorable!!! Sweltering here, too, in Minnesota. I'd say until now it's been a chilly spring/summer.

    1. Agreed! We had a very nice Spring although a bit rainier than normal. Looking forward to a break in the heat. I had plans for some gardening reconfiguring. Way too hot now!

  5. Those a sure cute Hexie blocks with the little fish bowls. We're on day #3 with 100 temps - directly after having temps in the 60s last week. Mother Nature must be in menopause with the mood swings.

  6. Yes, our heat is horrible -- 93 degrees that feels like 100 with a heat advisory! I'm so grateful we have air conditioning! Stay cool!
I really like your addition of the circles in the center of your hexie flowers.

    1. The swelter continues and, judging by the forecast, no relief in the immediate future. That darn old power company is really going to rake up the $$$. Lol! Let's sew!

  8. I think there are 28 states that are going to be in a heat wave this week. Wheew! It was 98 here yesterday. Your hexie flowers are just the cutest and the cat and the fish bowl just brought the biggest smile to my day- Cute! Stay cool , Susie. Hugs .

    1. Let's hope we don't all blow the power grid! Have to say I'm not looking forward to the power bill but I sure do love my A/C! Stay hydrated while out there taking care of your garden. Zucchini bread won't be worth a pass-out!
