Quickly corrected! |
The little embroidery blocks measure 2-1/2" finished. They're tiny! I worked on these during Mom's PT, podiatrist, and hair appointments. I could have had this finished if Mom wasn't in such good physical shape! Lol! She doesn't have many doctor appointments. She's a wonder Woman! 92 years young and still going strong! Hahaha!
I took some close-ups of the embroidery. It really was fun to stitch.

A couple more snuck in here too! |
The kit was all inclusive to make the top & binding. The cornerstones were supposed to be white like the embroidery blocks but, not realizing that, I accidentally chucked the scraps after cutting out my flower blocks. I'm so glad I did because I found that sweet 30's print in my stash and I thnk it worked better than perfectly! (Can that even be? Lol!)
As for true RSC purple month, I collected these fabrics for the GemTones this month.

Lights, Mediums, & Darks for Two Blocks |
I am a bit behind on these. I never did the Green RSC or the Orange RSC blocks!!! Thursday morning I cut out two sets of green before anyone else was up. Have to do things when the opportunity presents!
So that's it from around here. Hope you're having a great weekend. We're still unbelievably hot & humid in these neck of the woods. Ugh!
I think I'll try to catch up at Angela's Rainbow Scrap Challenge post HERE. You should join me!
Miss Jane's Best is a delightful finish, Susie! Lots of pretty purple stitching in it, too. You are very lucky to have such a healthy mom! My mom has such terrible dementia that she doesn't remember much any more, it's sad to have lost all that with her. But she's still with us, so there's that to celebrate!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Diann. I'm truly sorry to hear about your mother's dementia. My mother also can't remember squat anymore. She drives me a bit nuts sometimes bc she doesn't want to be late for anything. Instead she gets herself ready WAAAAY in advance -- hours and sometimes days. Words fail her all the time too but I can' usually fill in her blanks. It's really tough. The doctor told me it's "severe atrophy of the brain". Don 't know why she got that bc she always did puzzles and word games. However, she's always watched lots of TV too -- that can be mind-numbing, for sure. Anyway, I've rattled on long enough. Just know that we're dealing with the same here and I certainly understand the sorrow you feel. Me too ...
DeleteBe still my heart! Miss Jane's Best is absolutely adorable and the blocks are so teeny! The reproduction fabrics are just perfect! 92 years young- how sweet and still going strong. Hugs and Blessings.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Melisa. Miss Jane's Best was so much fun to work on. Tiny stitches stitched here and there, now and then. It all came together beautifully. I love it too!
DeleteOh my! Beautiful embroidery and in a very small block. Gorgeous finish x
ReplyDeleteThank you! Miss Jane's Best was a delight to stitch! I love it!
DeleteWhat pretty little embroidered blocks, so tiny indeed. I'm so pleased that you ha e us close up photos of your lovely work.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Jenny. I always enjoy the pictures from all the posts and, yes, the close-ups are always appreciated here too. This was such a fun, portable stitching project. I loved working on it.
DeleteThat is a very pretty finish- I love it! xx
ReplyDeleteThank you, Lin. Such a fun and portable project. Just what I need. I love it too!
DeleteSweet little quilt!! The embroidery is exquisite! If the cornerstones would’ve been white, they would’ve needed some embroidery. Your stash addition is perfect! Your Mom’s doing great!!!
ReplyDeleteI agree! White cornerstones would've demanded something more. Thanks!
Deleteoh what a sweet little quilt - i bet that was a LOT of work - but soooo worth it!!
ReplyDeleteYou're right, it was a lot of work. Thankfully I could do it in little snippets of time. Mom's appointments don't last all that long and it keeps me busy. Have a great weekend!
DeleteThat's so cute! Congrats on your finish. There's so many stitches in that. It's totally worth it. Adorable!
