So much to be thankful for especially when thinking how much worse it is in Ukraine. I hope they can have peace soon. Meanwhile my list of likes seems trivial compared to what they are currently going through. I'll be linking up with others at Not Afraid of Color, sharing our likes and trying to inspire others to find joy around ourselves, both great and small.
Recently I had a birthday. My family all chipped in and got me this sous vide cooking instrument. The very next day I left for retreat so I didn't get a chance to try it out yet. I'm looking forward to it though. Already bought some boneless pork chops. That will probably be my 1st sous vide adventure. If you're curious about sous vide, you can find out more HERE.
You may remember I made a quilt with Gudrun Erla's pattern called Hope. I gifted it to my niece and it was well-received. She sent me a very nice thank-you note along with a scarf that she knitted herself! Perfectly timed because I've worn the same scarf walking Gracie for years and keep meaning to knit myself a new scarf. Don't I look great in my new scarf??!!?
We enjoyed the season finale of The Amazing Race. We are happy that some of our other favorite shows are back to non-reruns again -- NCIS and Blue Bloods.
I finished my 900+ page book "Troubled Blood" by Robert Galbraith. I'm now deep into "All the Light We Cannot See" by Anthony Doerr. It's about Nazi Germany with two story lines: a young boy getting indoctrinating into Hitler's Youth Army and a young, blind French girl caught up in the Nazi takeover. Very timely reading what with Russia and Ukraine. If you'd like to read more about the story line, I suggest you check out the write-up HERE.
I'll leave you with this last picture. This painted sign on the bathroom wall at NC State always makes me laugh and shake my head.
Have a great week!
