Rainbow Scrap Challenge color for January is blue so I pulled out some blue scraps this week and set to work. Do you remember my inspiration photo from last week?

So I grabbed my 1" English Paper Piecing Jewels and set to looking through my blues, concentrating on contrasting fabrics. Prep time came next -- I'm a glue-girl but you do whatever makes you comfortable. I managed to get one star sewn together and have a 2nd one ready to go. Now I'm ready to watch some football!
In health news: I had my DEXA (bone density) scan yesterday. I figured it was a good idea since my "baby" sister had hers recently and was diagnosed osteopenia. Of course, if you're familiar with my blog, you already know my mother has severe osteoporosis. I don't have the report yet but they did measure my height. OMG! I'm shrinking! I am down to 5'2". No wonder I've been using a stool to get things down in my kitchen! I'll be keeping my fingers crossed until I hear back.
In the meantime, keep on sewing! And don't forget to check in with Angela's RSC quilters to see what they got up to this week!

Sorry to hear that you are getting shorter. I think that is pretty normal as we get older unfortunately. You are so smart to go in and get your scan to make sure you can take preventative steps. Your blues are lovely.
ReplyDeleteThank you., Angela
DeleteWhat a great RSC project. Here’s hoping you receive good news from your scan……and stop shrinking!
ReplyDeleteThe results came in: slight osteopenia. Next scan in 2 years. Pshew! Thanks for the well wishes!
DeleteHoping you get a good result from your scan. I think I'm shrinking too!
ReplyDeleteSlight osteopenia. Next scan in 2 years. Pshew! Have you had your bone scan?
DeleteYou have made a good start on your blues - I do like that block. Fingers crossed for your results. xx
ReplyDeleteTurns out I have slight osteopenia so not to worry uintil my next scan in 2 years. Pshew! I need to get going on the EPP project but I got a sore on my "sewing finger" so been a little laid up for sewing. I'll be back before we know it! Have you had a bone scan?
DeleteWhat a great project for the RSC. Your skill at EPP is impressive. Like you, I know Angela revisits various blues throughout the 12 months. So, saving turquoise and light/dark blue for the future.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Gwyned. Yes, I'm prepared sufficiently for the different shades of blue. Hopefully Angela calls them during the year! Just never know.
DeletePretty blue fabrics, great start.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Narelle. Let's see what else I can come up with, right?
DeleteThis looks like a fun project, Susie. Pretty blues that you are working with. I wish you good results from the scan. Hmmm you got me thinking about checking my height. Have a blessed week.
ReplyDeleteThe scan results are in: Slight osteopenia, next scan in 2 years. Great news as far as I'm concerned. Have you had your bone density scan? I would hate for any of us to fall and break a hip. Now I need to get to work on the EPP!
DeleteI love your Jewel EPP project for RSC. Very ambitious yet do-able project, over a year's time.
ReplyDeleteYes, and as long as my fingers continue to split from the cold, it might just take me all year! Lol!
